Only non-incarcerated Muslim U.S. citizens and permanent residents are eligible to apply.

The current grant cycle is for July 2019-June 2020. Deadline for submission of postmarks of new applications and renewal applications is May 31, 2019. If you have received a grant for 2017-18 or 2018-19, use the renewal form. Otherwise, use the new application form. Grantees are announced in July 2019. Use your FEF ID to check this spreadsheet if you’ve submitted a renewal form and this spreadsheet if you’ve submitted a new application. Make sure you keep a copy of all unsealed materials in your application in case you need to resend it.

Reminders for the 2019-20 application cycle are distributed via e-mail and SMS/text messages. You can also text @201920a to the number 81010 or (636) 486-0790.

For those who submitted applications for 2019-20, you can follow the status of your full application or your renewal application online using your FEF ID. You receive a FEF ID by e-mail within 10 business days after the foundation has received your application. If you have applied in the past, please reuse your previous FEF ID.

The selection of successful candidates for awards is based on a combination of need and merit. Grant selections are completed by mid-July. You will not be notified. You must check the website to see if you received an award. The maximum amount for the grant is $3,500.00. If you are selected, you must follow these instructions before any money is disbursed.

The awards are sent directly to the educational institution. The duration of the award is one academic year. Recipients are encouraged to re-apply in subsequent years.
