Only non-incarcerated Muslim U.S. citizens and permanent residents are eligible to apply.

The current grant cycle is for July 2021-June 2022. Deadline for submission of new applications and renewal applications is May 29, 2021. If you have received a grant for 2019-20 or 2020-21, use the renewal form. Otherwise, use the new application form. Download the new application form to your computer. Fill it out using Adobe Acrobat or Adobe Acrobat Reader, which you can download for free.

You receive a FEF ID by e-mail within 10 business days after the foundation has received your application. If you have applied in the past, please reuse your previous FEF ID. Make sure you keep a copy of all materials in your application in case you need to resend it.

The selection of successful candidates for awards is based on a combination of need and merit. The maximum amount for the grant is $3,500.00. Grantees are announced in July 2021. Use your FEF ID to check this spreadsheet if you’ve submitted a renewal form and this spreadsheet if you’ve submitted a new application. You will not receive an individualized notification. If you are selected, you must follow these instructions before any money is disbursed.

The awards are sent directly to the educational institution. The duration of the award is one academic year. Recipients are encouraged to re-apply in subsequent years.
